S88 part 4: Production Records

The SP88 committee is developing part 4 of S88, about production records. Part 4 provides a detailed description of production records and it contains an object model of production record contents. The intended use of the production record standard is to provide a reference model for developing applications for the storage and/or exchange of production records. Implementations based upon this standard will allow retrieval, analysis and reporting of selected production record data.

Although S88 part 4 is intended primarily for batch processes, there may be considerable value for other types of processes. The standard is a good basis for compliance to the General Food Law, with its requirements for tracking and tracing.
