S88.02 Data structures and
guidelines for languages S88.02 consists of data
models, tables and a standard method for depicting recipes. The data exchange models
treat four important aspects of information that are described in S88.01:
recipes, equipment capacities, scheduling and batch journals. The relational
tables can be used for the exchange of information between different systems.

Data model, data structures
and internal relations S88.02 defines data models
that specify a set of objects, attributes and their basic relationships that
cover the concepts of Part 1 at a high level of abstraction. The intended use
of these models is to provide a starting point for developing interface
specifications for software components. The models address all of Part 1 as
an integrated object model, but they do not presume or preclude any specific
division of functionality between the systems. |

Guidelines for languages S88.02 defines the symbols
and rules for a graphical language that can be used to depict recipes.
Recipes are the central feature of batch control, and they can address a wide
range of complexity, but there is no one depiction that is ideal for all
circumstances. The S88.02 standard specifies a method for depiction of master
and control recipe procedures that can be applied over a broader range of
complexity, called Procedural Function Chart (PFC). |
