S88 for suppliers of Batch
Control Software S88 was developed especially for batch processes, and for discrete and

Are you wondering if your design will be efficient? S88 has been developed by a committee with representatives of software
developers, industrial companies and system integrators from all over the
world. Their best practices were collected and transformed into a consistent
set of models and terminology. S88 has already proved to be effective. Don’t
try to invent the wheel, but use the experience that was collected by the S88
committee.
Are you looking for a guideline to handle exceptions?
S88 can be used as a guideline for exception handling. S88 suggests to
make use of a consistent set of commands and states, which are defined in the
standard. You can use these amongst others as a means to handle exceptions. |
Are you looking for a better
way to collect batch information and to make this information available? S88 consists of models that help define which data
should be available at a certain moment and place, for example operator
commands, the Status of Equipment Phases, and failures. Thanks to the S88
standard, it gets easier to exchange data, because S88.02 offers solutions
for data structures. You can use these in your development. In S88.02 you
will also find a standardized way to
represent recipes, with several levels, allocation symbols, synchronization
symbols, and so on.
